week 2 blog 1: lessons 2 , poem 2: working with structure

Horse lessons…

A warm and bright afternoon
of fall. The riders
are practicing. Ecstatic waves
of dust across the ground.

It is in an arena. The horses prance
both the horses and riders move.
Gracefully together
they dance.

The instructor braves the dust storm, standing
tall and proud. She is a sweet woman, with a caring
nature. She has a big voice which cries out moves
for the duos to perform.

Clip clop, the powerful hooves
fall. Descending in rhythm with the
music of nature. I sit at a distance upon
my steed, wishing we could move like them.

A warm and bright afternoon
of fall. The riders
are practicing. Ecstatic waves
of dust across the ground.
